Game Day Tips

Happy weekend, ya'll!

So this afternoon my school had it's first home game!

I was going to keep my school anonymous, but it's kinda hard with the amount of love I have in my heart for my University of Arkansas Razorbacks!

Don't worry, I still love you if you go to A&M (Heehee). This is a blog for college girls - you could be at Oxford and I'd still want to reach out to you. So no matter what the score, team color, or your graduation year, Cristina on Campus is your girl!

That being said, here are my game day tips:

#1. No matter what - dress comfortable.

It could be hot, it could be pouring rain, it could be cold, you could be standing all game...be prepared! You can still look cute, don't worry!

#2. Eat a big meal before the game so you don't have to buy snacks

#2a. The only snack you should spend money on at the game...the huge bags of carmel corn! It was 6 dollars, but it's going to last us for the next few days - worth it!

#3. Don't take a big purse with you

If you can, just take a wristlet for your student ID/ticket. This way, you don't have to wait in line for bag check. (A sweet upperclassmen told me this when I ran into her in my dorm hallway this morning!)

#4. Don't be like me and save your homework for late.

Girl, I know you have a cute agenda from Swoozies. You know what time the game is, so make sure you've made a window of time before or after to do homework. Friday night, Saturday morning, after the game, doesn't matter! Just remember to do it.

#5. HAVE FUN! These are the best four years of your life, and in my opinion, the football games are one of the best parts.

Go team!

Cristina

An Off-Brand Allowance

Wait, it's already my second week as a college student?! Time really does fly.

Today I'm sharing some campus girl words of wisdom with ya'll. So without any further to-do, here is Cristina on Campus tip #2018

Buy the off-brand when you can, if not always.

Now that I'm a college student, I'm on a budget. I get a bi weekly allowance. (Thanks Dad!) Included is more than enough money to get food for my dorm, school supplies as needed, and even order a pizza every now and then.

(Psst...Here's something money can't buy... awesome friends!)

The trick with budgeting isn't just to not spend more than you have, it's to spend and have money to spare. Said money can be put away for a rainy day - literally. Maybe your car gets a flat and you have to have it fixed. You could save up for a weekend trip with your friends, a concert coming to town, you name it.

So, college gals, it's ok to get the cheapest item on the shelf.

I mostly buy snack food from the store because I have a meal plan. I buy off brand granola bars, peanut butter crackers, applesauce, and microwaveable soups.

Sometimes the difference between the two items is only a few cents, but imagine - that's a few cents closer to that Kate Spade handbag you want for Christmas!

Instead of buying juice or flavored drinks, I get water flavoring. The Mio ones are really tasty and have energy boosters. Since you can put them in water, you're saving about four dollars if you would have gotten a few Vitamin Waters. And it really does taste the same, ya'll.

My latest off-brand purchase are these super-comfy harem sweatpants! I was eyeing a pair of Nike ones online for 85 dollars a few months ago. Yesterday it was chilly here and my legs were freezing, so after class I went to the mall. I got these for only 19.95 at Wet Seal. There was also a sale to get a second item for 70% off, so I bought a new cardigan I needed for the incoming temperature drop.

I'm proud to say I bought 2 essential fall pieces for less than $25 dollars. And I'm also excited to see my savings account grow.

I hope you take this CC Tip and apply it to your next grocery list.
Have a great week!

Cristina

Free Dates and Labor Day Fun

This labor day, instead of shopping, I went for something that would bring my heart more joy than a reduced price tag.

Cameron and I visited the Crystal Bridges Museum for the day. It's a free indoor and outdoor American art museum. General admission is completed free. You can run/walk the trails, bring your dog and/or kids, or just sight see like we did.

CC Tip #4820 No matter what, spending time with friends and loved ones is way more important than spending money...and better for the soul!

There was no where else I would have rather been than enjoying the weather and the beauty with Cameron.

Follow Me on Pinterest for free date ideas! I'll be creating a board tonight especially for those seeking fun things to do on a college budget.

Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. And if you did go shopping, show me what you got by tagging #oncampusstyle on your pictures on Twitter or Instagram.

Have a great week from me and mine!

X,

Cristina
