When I was little, I joined in on all the Halloween hooplah because the candy was delicious and the Disney princess costume options were endless. Now that I am almost 20, I have fallen into the category of someone who is "not a Halloween person".
I don't love dressing up in costumes and I don't really have a good reason besides just being un-creative in the fashion department to throw something together. I also am not crazy about consuming large amounts of candy...I'd really rather have a smoothie. Is that weird?
I'm really excited to be co-hosting this #galpalholiday link-up with Classy Cathleen and Seashells and Sparkles and wouldn't you know it - the first post is Witches, Gouls, and Goblins.
So, for all you non-Halloween people, I've devised a list of 31 ways to celebrate if you're not a total zombie lover. Enjoy! Be sure to check the end of the post and see all of the other posts involved in this linkup (a.k.a some great Halloween-inspired recipes, the dish on scary movies, and some costume ideas, too!) And don't forget to visit Rachel and Cathleen's blogs!
So here you go ya'll - 31 ways to celebrate if you're not partying or trick-or-treating:
- carve pumpkins
- watch a romantic comedy instead of a scary movie
- put on a face mask and declare it your "Halloween costume"
- bake something festive
- wear Halloween pajamas around the house
- paint your nails like candy corn
- watch a Disney channel Halloween movie (Twitches is pretty scary, yeah?)
- hand out candy to trick-or-treaters
- be a designated driver for your friends (wear your vampire fangs to be extra festive)
- invite all your other "anti-Halloween" friends over for a movie night
- wear a really nice all-black and edgy outfit to dinner out
- take advantage of deals going on at restaurants for the holiday
- START DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS
- watch Elf instead of a Halloween movie
- go buy the on-sale candy and stuff your face
- light all your fall candles and soak in a bubble bath
- do your homework and declare that letting your GPA drop is pretty teeth-chattering, scary stuff
- call your grandma and have a nice, long chat
- do a good deed such as baking some Halloween cookies for your neighbors
- watch fall Youtube tutorials
- organize your closet and say you were just making sure the boogeyman wasn't in it
- perfect an at-home pumpkin spice latte
- go to the gym and do a treadmill sprint workout (pretend to be running from zombies)
- start scoping out what you want to get at the Black Friday sale (you can never be too prepared)
- go to Panera and get one of the fall soups and a pumpkin cookie
- go to a pumpkin patch or apple orchard
- make healthy fall treats
- listen to Christmas music (just getting ahead of the game, you know?)
- take Halloween-themed Buzzfeed quizzes
- get on Pinterest and pin Thanksgiving recipes and fall outfits
- dress up in a costume and go out anyways because hey, free candy
I hope this post gave you some good ideas. Don't forget to check out the other posts that have been linked up and have a great #galpalholiday!
X,
Cristina

Yes, it's one of my favorite movies of all time!
DeleteTurning Halloween into more of a girls night holiday is one of my favorite ways to celebrate it! I like the costumes but they're just not my thing every year!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
DeleteI love all these suggestions! Great post!

ReplyDeleteI hope your Halloween is awesome, thanks for reading!
DeleteThis is such a fun list! I love Halloween, and I'm so excited that there's actually a Halloween party going on in my area this year, but these alternatives sound equally as fun!

I'm so glad you found it helpful!
DeleteI don't celebrate Halloween but I love watching all the scary movies on TV especially ABC Family 13 nights of Halloween and I love love the treats that Panera has during this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin cookies are the best! Thanks for reading :)
DeleteWhat a perfect list!! Friday is Pajama day at my work and I can't' wait to wear my Halloween pjs! My first graders always get a kick out of seeing me wearing pjs...it's so funny!
ReplyDeletexo Ashley
That sounds awesome! I love holiday-themed pjs :) Thanks for reading!
DeleteNumber three is the best! I love these ideas so much! Getting ready for Christmas is a good idea! Or watching movies... or any of these ideas! I'm definitely not a huge fan of halloween!

I'm definitely more of a Christmas fan myself! Thanks for reading :)
DeleteI'm not a big Halloween person either! I literally only watch the Disney movies because I'm a wimp and I don't have kids to take trick or treating and I'm too old to go out (in my opinion). The struggle. This Halloween, I kind of want to go see a scary movie, but the fall candles and bubble bath sound divine!
ReplyDeleteFor scary movies, I really recommend the older/classic ones. I will watch those because they have a good story and not all gore and ghosts, you know? The Sixth Sense, The Shining, or The Changeling (1989) are the best! Thanks for reading :)
DeleteI'm currently sitting in my study hall reading all of the posts, and I actually lol'd at "put on a face mask and call it your costume" suggestion. Thanks for making my day!
ReplyDeleteCarly June | cinciprep.com
Oh my goodness I am so glad I could bring a smile to your face! I hope your Halloween is amazing!
DeleteThese are all hilarious! I really don't enjoy halloween, and I don't think I did much as a kid either, other than for the candy! I still have yet to decide what exactly I'll be doing this Saturday night, but your list has definitely given me a few awesome ideas!
ReplyDeleteYay, so glad to hear that! I hope you have a great Halloween :)
DeleteI love carving pumpkins and roasting the seeds!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a blast!
DeleteHahah this list is so cute, I love it! I'm a fan of Halloween just because I'm into the whole dress-up thing but I will definitely need to pass this on to my friends.
